ASPIRING model, photographer and New Forest High pupil Lusanda Zungu will head to Johannesburg on Saturday, 13 October to take to the stage as one of the top 20 in Miss SA Teen.
Although she has been modeling since the age of four, Lusanda only recently joined Model International to extend her modeling portfolio.
She saw the opportunity to enter the Miss SA Teen and thanks to her fashion-forward Instagram with her cool following of 11,000 Instagrammers, she quickly moved up to being just a girl from Montclair, but a pageant finalist. The 16-year-old has expressed her excitement and anticipation as she waits for the clock to tick by. “It is surreal, and I thank all those who have voted for me (to get me into the finals). I ask them to continue voting so I can win this title,” said Lusanda.

Although modeling is her dream, Lusanda would also like to pursue photography and hopefully tie both passions together. “I just bought a new camera and I like taking photos that allow me to capture the moment and to tell a story. I hope to model for magazines in the future,” she added.
Besides her love of modeling and photography, Lusanda also feels it is important to stay active.
She plays tennis and soccer at school while also teaching grade 8 pupils through a programme called Reading Buddies. “It’s not that difficult to manage all that is going on in my life. My advice is to focus on achieving your goals and don’t let the small things distract you or run you off course.
No matter who you are or how old you are, you can do anything. Just stay focused,” she advised.
