Sparkling line-up for Tafta’s 60th diamond fundraiser gala dinner
The event is almost sold out so if you haven’t as yet purchased your tickets, the organisation urges you to do so before it’s too late.
A SPARKLING line-up of entertainment has been lined up for The Association for the Aged (Tafta) 60th anniversary gala dinner event on Friday, 21 September.
The line-up, featuring celebrity MC Darren Maule, Playback singer Eric Canham, a jewellery display by gemmologist and businessman Akshar Choudree, and Tafta’s own choir to set the right tone, has a bit to keep everyone in good spirits.
The intergenerational Tafta choir, comprising Tafta staff and elders, are set to give their best performance at the event.
Choir co-ordinator Rahida Hassan said: “We’re especially proud of our choir, who’ve actually previously won the KZN inter home senior choir competition, and they’re proud to represent Tafta at this momentous celebration.”
The event, which takes place at the Elangeni Southern Sun Hotel, is almost sold out so if you haven’t as yet purchased your tickets at just R550, the organisation urges you to do so before it’s too late. Included in the ticket price is a welcome drink on arrival with wines sponsored by KWV on the night, a three-course meal including desserts courtesy of Chateau Gateaux, a goodie bag per guest, enviable raffles and auctions and loads of awesome prize giveaways.
“Tafta is hosting this extraordinary gala dinner fundraiser to support its funding of nutritionally balanced meals to the total value of R9.5 million, to ensure our ability to maintain our nutritional meal programme for 762 elderly pensioners in Tafta’s care, who rely solely on the state pension as their only source of income.”
To make a difference, Tafta calls on corporates to get involved as prize and cash sponsors of the gala dinner event, and members of the general public to purchase tickets to the event, which sell at R550 per person or R5,500 per table.
The Night of Diamonds themed event, which is due to take place on Friday, 21 September will also commemorate the association’s 60th birthday.
