Bluff primary healthcare clinic committee seeks two volunteers
Are you over 18 years of age? Are you a vibrant and committed individual? Do you have your finger on the pulse of local community issues?
THE Bluff primary healthcare (PHC) clinic committee has two volunteer positions available.
Clinic committees are health governance structures, which were created to provide an avenue for communities to give input and feedback into the planning, delivery and organisation of health services.
They play an oversight role in the development and implementation of health policies and provision of equitable health services.
Legislated by the National Health Act of 2003, the committees are made up of a combination of community and civil society representatives and health professionals of each area. They allow community concerns to be elevated through the structures from local to district to provincial and finally to national level.
The recently formed Bluff (ward 66) clinic committee has two volunteer positions.

If so, the recently formed clinic committee needs you.
The roles of representatives include:
- Encouraging local participation to close the current gap in the Bluff PHC clinic in relation to community health issues.
- To ensure awareness of the numerous facilities provided by Bluff PHC clinic.
- To act as a link between the community and social workers where needed.
- To establish support structures in various community institutions with relating to primary health issues.
The clinic encourages representation from elderly and disabled community members.
