The much-needed upgrade marks a major improvement to not only the look of the home but to the safety of the home and its residents. Winnie Mkhize, the manager of Merewent Cheshire Home, expressed her relief that the request has been met after putting out a plea for assistance at the beginning of July.
“The new door that was installed is a massive relief. We previously had an old, wooden double door that was broken and off its hinges. It could no longer be closed as it would fall off. We had to rely on just locking the burglar gate for safety. Additionally, the door had become an eyesore, falling sideways and needing support to stay open,” she said.
Mkhize said she extends her deepest thanks to Max Scott Engineering who stepped forward and helped transform their facility into a more secure and better-looking home for their residents.
