Update: Missing Woodlands teenager found, reunited with family

He was found by a neighbour at a tuckshop in Woodlands after posts regarding his disappearance went viral on social media platforms.

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy from Woodlands who went missing on February 5 has been found and reunited with his family.

Mnqobi Shandu was found by a neighbour at a local tuckshop after posts regarding his disappearance went viral on various social media platforms.

Mnqobi went missing earlier this week after he was seen leaving his Woodlands home, in Doddington Crescent, for Clairwood Secondary School.

His mother Zamokuhle Shandu said when she came back from work she noticed that her son was not at home.

“My thanks and appreciation go out to everyone who shared the post regarding my missing son. He has been found and reunited with the family.

“A special thanks to my neighbour Carrie-Ann Gunn and her fiancé, who went the extra mile in assisting me.

Earlier this week, Shandu told the SUN that a similar incident had happened in the past, where her son did not sleep at their home but decided to sleep at a friend’s house.
