Wentworth police mobilise community against crime
The main objective of the Imbizo is to discuss pertinent issues that affect the community and give feedback to the crime stats for the area.
AS part of ongoing efforts to flush out criminality, the management of Wentworth police station is calling on members of the public to attend a crime Imbizo that will be held on June 25.
Station commander, Colonel Sinayo Mtshali urges the members of the public within the Wentworth policing precinct to attend the meeting.
The main purpose of the Imbizo is to discuss pertinent issues that affect the community and give feedback on the crime stats for the area.
Spokesperson for Wentworth police station, Captain Mbuso Gumede said, “The event also address social issues and come up with amicable solutions. The purpose of the community engagement is to create a platform for effective interaction between police leadership and communities to address crime-related concerns and policing needs in the area,” he said.

The police said the Imbizo is aimed at fostering direct dialogue between police leadership and the community in a bid to tackle pressing crime concerns and improve public safety.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community policing partnerships and ensure more responsive, targeted crime prevention strategies in hotspots across the country.
