Body found in Montclair, police investigate murder

A 57-year-old man who was reported missing was found dead with gunshot wounds to the chest in Montclair.

A CASE of murder is being investigated by the Montclair police station following the discovery of a body of a 57-year-old man on Benson Road in Montclair on October 20.

Captain Carmen Rhynes, eThekwini District spokesperson, said on Monday (October 20) at around 17:00, Montclair police received a report of a dead body.

“The deceased had been shot on the left side of his chest. The deceased is an Indian male aged 57 years old who was reported missing from 10:00 that same morning and could not be reached,” said Rhynes.

The cause of the incident is being investigated by Montclair SAPS. The police request the assistance of the public in solving the case.
