According to a police report, both the suspect and the deceased were living at the Wema Men’s Hostel.

It is alleged that the suspect picked up a bush knife and slashed the deceased in the face several times.

Police spokesperson in Montclair, Constable Norah Ndlovu, said Mazinyo died at the scene from the severe injuries he sustained.

“Shortly after the murder, the suspect handed himself over to the police. He was detained at the police station awaiting his court appearance date,” said Ndlovu.
