Struggling families invited to free shopping experience
Vulnerable children and adults are invited to ‘shop’ at no cost on Lighthouse Road on Saturday, September 24.
RESIDENTS who are in need of a helping hand are invited to the Ward 66 Unicorn Shopping initiative hosted on Lighthouse Road on Saturday, September 24.
Between 09:00 and 11:00, vulnerable children and adults can ‘shop’ for a few second-hand items at no cost.
Hosted by the Ward 66 Vulnerable Groups sub-committee, the initiative is exclusively for those who really need it and are struggling.
Ward 66 councillor Zoe Solomon said she was proud of the committee members for driving the initiative.
“We are proud, as a community, to be able to bring this sort of comfort to those who are vulnerable and in need. Parents will be required to accompany the children. We hope to spread some love and cheer in the community, while we warm the hearts of those who are struggling and help them keep their bodies warm,” said Solomon.
