Ward 66 pensioners invited to collect Christmas vouchers

Only the person on the ID can collect vouchers and pensioners cannot send someone on their behalf to collect a voucher.

PENSIONERS from ward 66 are encouraged to collect their share of 500 Christmas vouchers from eThekwini Municipality.

Chantal Bransgrove-Bower, from the ward 66 vulnerable groups committee, said the municipality has finally approved the Christmas vouchers, however, there are a limited amount of 500 vouchers.

“The vouchers will be available for collection on December 23, at 09:00, at the side room of the Grosvenor Library. Vouchers will be handed on a first come, first serve, basis,” said Bransgrove-Bower.

To qualify for a voucher, you must be 60 years old or over, must produce a SASSA card and ID card, and applicants must reside on The Bluff.

Pensioners should carry their proof of residence (can be a utility bill, bank statement, any account, affidavit, or a written letter from your landlord)

“Only the person on the ID can collect vouchers and pensioners cannot send someone on their behalf to collect a voucher. Only one voucher per household will be given. Pensioners will be required to sign a register before collection,” Bransgrove-Bower said.
