Two men shot dead and one injured in Montclair shooting

Unknown assailants opened fire on three people in a car, fatally injuring two of the occupants.

TWO men were killed and one critically injured after a shooting incident on Radcliffe Road in the
Woodlands, Montclair, area on January 27.

It is alleged that a man, with two occupants, was driving a white Toyota Accent before another vehicle appeared parallel to their car. The assailants began opening fire on the car, fatally injuring the two occupants.

Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said they had received multiple calls about a shooting incident and responded a little after 21:00. “ALS Paramedics arrived, together with EMRS to find SAPS already in attendance and the scene cornered off. Paramedics were shown to a vehicle that had multiple bullet holes in it. Paramedics found three men in the vehicle and immediately assessed them,” he said.

Jamieson said that, unfortunately, the two men, believed to be in their 30s, had succumbed to their multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

“One male, also believed to be in his thirties, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition. Paramedics worked to stabilise him on scene before rushing him through to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he required,” he said.

The reasoning behind the shooting is still unknown. Montclair police are investigating two cases of murder and one case of attempted murder.
