Bluff Assist undertook a new initiative to help learners in need with a stationery pack filled with the necessities.

BLUFF Assist has embarked on a stationery drive to ensure that every child in need is adequately equipped for the new school year. Monica Pelser, chairperson of Bluff Assist, said they aimed for at least 50 stationery packs to be distributed.

Bluff Assist is known for their work within the community. “We assist families that are vulnerable due to unemployment, hardships, and unforeseen circumstances throughout the year. These families are added to our list, and where we can, we provide a basic pack of stationery to help children start the new school year with the essentials,” said Pelser.

Items in packs:

Each package should have the following contents:

  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Sharpeners
  • Rulers
  • Glue
  • Pencil crayons
  • Pencil bags
  • Math sets for high school learners
  • A few notebooks.

“We have seen the need in the community through the families we work with, and it’s important that a child should be able to start the new school year with at least some of the basic stationery required,” said Pelser.

The enthusiasm from the community has played a huge role in driving the success of the project. Bluff Assist thanked all who took the time to donate.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to every member within our community for the donations received towards our school drive. Without the contributions of residents and businesses, this drive would not have been successful. As our motto says, for the community, by the community,” Pelser said.

Bluff Assist continues to inspire through its dedication to uplifting those in need, demonstrating the power of collective action and compassion.
