Wentworth Hospital board announces bold steps towards service efficiency
The Wentworth Hospital board members aim to eliminate bottlenecks that hinder the functioning of the healthcare facility.
THE newly elected Wentworth Hospital board members have announced a strategic partnership with their committed donors in a bid to improve the healthcare services.
The board members met at the hospital on April 3 to announce that over R300 000 had been received from sponsors to enhance services at the healthcare facility. The SUN has previously reported on challenges facing Wentworth Hospital.

A board member, Sidney Govindsamy, said this exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone for both entities as it aims at improving part of the healthcare service.
“The commitment and partnership represent a powerful synergy that will undoubtedly elevate and improve some of the services that we are hoping to achieve. This collaboration marks an exciting chapter for the board as we join forces with a team that embodies the values of excellence and dedication
“Thus far four wheelchairs were donated to the hospital, to add to further great news which has now been confirmed. With the ongoing issues around files being misplaced and misfiled, the filing room will be upgraded with new filing cabinets to the value of R167 038 which will operate efficiently without delays,” said Govindsamy.
He said the board members have identified ablutions in Medical Outpatient Department (MOPD) in need of a critical upgrade.

The sponsorship will assist in doing upgrades at the hospital:
- Renovations will be undertaken to the value of R103 155
- Water dispensers will also be installed to the value of R28 376
- Face masks will be procured to the value of R6 613 and issued
- New filing cabinets to the value of R 167 038.

With all the challenges and constraints, the board aims at improving the healthcare service exploring different avenues in making the visit to the hospital much more comfortable,” said Govindsamy.
