Pillay is a driven, ambitious woman who has called Montclair home for 10 years. Now, she is getting ready to take the national stage with her community’s backing.

While Pillay possesses the drive, determination and poise to be considered for the title of Miss India Worldwide South Africa, she shared that she did not initially enter herself into the pageant but was nominated by a friend who submitted her entry.

“I was nominated by a friend who believed deeply in my success and ability to make a difference. This is rare in today’s day and age but I’m so grateful to have a whole tribe of strong beautiful women supporting my journey,” she said.

Now that she is among the top 10 finalists, Pillay is eagerly anticipating the grand finale in Ladysmith in June. Only one of the 10 finalists will be selected to represent South Africa at the international Miss India Worldwide pageant in India in August.

Pillay said the contest means more than just glitz and glamour.

“The heartbeat of my mission is to be able to use my voice and strengths to lift others,” she shared. “I’ve always been very people-oriented, and this pageant beautifully captures my true personality,” said Pillay.

Outside the pageant circuit, Pillay is an independent financial advisor respected for her professionalism and dedication to helping others. Her dedication has earned her numerous awards and the trust of numerous clients over the years.

“My career has allowed me to build long-standing relationships with truly incredible individuals,” she said.

Pillay loves spending time with her family and in her alone time she enjoys music, fashion, food and adventure.

As she aims to move forward in the competition, Pillay hopes that the community will continue to support and cheer her on to victory.
