A message from your angel awaits

Janet McGhee started a support group that spreads daily encouragement and offers angelic readings to those in distress.

RECEIVING messages from departed loved ones happens more often than we realise. Sometimes it is through a favourite song on the radio, a feather in an unlikely place, or a phrase they always used.

This is what The Bluff-based Janet McGhee firmly believes. McGhee is the founder of Angels for Africa, a support group that spreads daily encouragement and positivity. Her journey with angels began 30 years ago, following the passing of her mother.

“My mom didn’t want a funeral with sombre organ music,” said McGhee. “So I hosted a memorial service at home filled with light and positivity, inspired by the angels. That’s when I realised there was much more to the angelic realm than I had ever imagined.”

Since then, McGhee has published a book, which was later revised, and an e-book titled Angels for Africa. She started a support group and began offering angelic readings to those in distress.
“I’m not a psychiatrist,” she clarified. “I simply listen and share what the angels guide me to say.”

According to McGhee, when a loved one dies, their spirit pairs with angels to send messages of comfort and inspiration. “There are angels in every religion. They were created for humanity. I believe the angelic spirit connects to your soul, which then connects to your physical being.”

Though not religious, McGhee describes herself as deeply spiritual.

For her readings, she uses a deck of angel cards she created. “You can ask any question, draw a card and the message you receive will be a direct affirmation, one that encourages positivity and upliftment.”

McGhee also urges people to become earth angels, individuals who inspire others, lead with kindness and give with love.

“Anyone can be an earth angel,” she said. “It starts with being a light in someone else’s life.”
