The gyms are  in Dhubri grounds, Panax Place and Alabama Road. According to Ward 68 councillor Aubrey Snyman the facilities are easily accessible to residents from various parts of the Ward.

The construction of the gym facilities began in late April and were completed in two months.

Snyman said, “These outdoor gyms are part of our commitment to creating healthier and more connected communities. They give residents of all ages a free and accessible way to exercise close to home.”

Each gym includes durable equipment designed for:

  • Strength,
  • Cardio, and flexibility workouts, suitable for both beginners and experienced users.

“The open-air set-up promotes a healthy lifestyle while encouraging social interaction and community bonding.

“The installations have been so well received that residents in neighbouring areas are already calling for similar gyms to be introduced in their communities,” said Synman.

He added that with increased community interest and visible benefits, there is growing momentum to expand the project across more parts of the Ward in future CIP funding cycles.
