Update: Elderly driver alleged to have had a medical emergency

The female driver of the car that crashed through the exit of a popular store in Yellowwood Park was believed to have had a medical emergency, leading to her losing control.

THE driver, believed to be in her sixties, whose car ploughed through the exit of a store in Yellowwood Park, was believed to have had a medical emergency.

Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said they found that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and crashed into a popular shop, coming to rest inside the store.

“The female, believed to be in her sixties, allegedly had a medical emergency and crashed,” said Jamieson.

Paramedics were quick to stabilise the driver on scene, before she was transported to a nearby hospital for the further care she needed. Jamieson said that the events leading up to the crash are unknown.

The Montclair police were in attendance and will investigate the matter.
