Merewent Cheshire Home in need of urgent upgrades

This building dates back to 1945. While the Cheshire Home is home to people who live with physical disabilities, it was originally something else. Winnie Mkhize, manager of the home, said that it initially started out as a training college for Indian police officers.

Mkhize is asking for help to get these two doors replaced. “Ideally we would like to install new aluminium doors, as they are long lasting and do not rust as easily as the metal ones,” she said.

The home is reaching out to local businesses, donors and anyone else who might be able to help.
