Bluff Tidy Team calls it quits after two years of service

Bluff Tidy Teams will be officially closing its doors after two years of committed service to the community.

AFTER more than two years spent serving the community, the Bluff Tidy Team recently confirmed its decision to disband.

The organisation, which was started by Waylon Murray, was recognised for its various clean-up drives, its work in raising environmental awareness and its efforts to create a sense of community pride.

Murray explained that reaching the decision to close the organisation had been far from simple.

“After over two years of working to serve and keep our community clean, it truly breaks my heart to share the news that the Bluff Tidy Team will officially be ceasing operations, a direct result of insufficient ongoing support and a shortage of volunteers,” said Murray.

He added that while the core function of the organisation was collecting litter, the non-profit exceeded it all. “This journey, for us, was never solely focused on cleaning. It was deeply rooted in building community and striving to genuinely improve the place we all consider home. I poured everything I had into this endeavour, and I will forever appreciate each individual who offered their support to us throughout this time,” he said.

Despite the undeniable disappointment accompanying the team’s closure, Murray still conveyed his gratitude to The Bluff community for their support of the initiative and for standing by the team throughout its operational period.
