Kamryn Govender, the Always representative, covered topics on puberty and feminine hygiene and helped learners build confidence on how to take care of their menstrual health.
Ntozinhle Nkomo, the school’s marketer, said the session was important as it allowed the learners to understand their bodies and the changes that come with puberty.

The session included an Always product demonstration and how to use them properly, followed by a question-and-answer session that allowed the learners to ask questions where they could raise any concerns they had. The session also highlighted Always’ sisters for the Always initiative which looked at creating and fostering sisterhood among girls.
“Learners received guidance on monitoring their menstrual cycles, recognising the signs of menstruation, and were primarily encouraged to maintain proper hygiene,” said Nkomo. She added that the learners were reassured that menstruation is a natural process and not something they should be ashamed of.

This interactive talk left the girls better informed and confident about understanding and managing their menstrual health.
