Moore advances in Woodlands men’s singles bowls

On Saturday, 6 February is our prize-giving for 2015.

ON Saturday in very hot and windy conditions, Woodlands Bowling Club’s Norman Moore and Andy Cloete played in the men’s singles competition with Norman beating Andy 21-15.

As such, he goes on to the next round.

Gloria Rice, Dennis Holloway and Eric Coetzee played against Rina Harper, Bill Hewer and David Lloyd in the trips competition with Rina and her team beating Gloria 20-15.

On a hot Sunday morning, the club hosted ‘chicken fun day’ bowls. Thanks to all who joined in. The overall winners on an average score were Robbie Carr and Shawn Cant and in second place also on an average score, were Rina Harper and Alan Bower. Gloria Rice and Anne Cant took the sportsman prize.

The swindle winners were Bill Hewer, Lesley Morrison and Ann Cant.

On Saturday, 6 February is the club prize-giving for 2015. All members are to attend in whites and should supply a plate of snacks. After prize-giving there will be a game of fun bowls.
