Bluff BC team makes PN mixed pairs semis
Men's league on Saturday had both A and B sides only getting two points apiece.

BLUFF Bowling Club’s best news from this past week is that the team of Robbie Johnston and Daphne Reinhardt had a successful Sunday and have reached the semi-finals of the Port Natal mixed pairs competition.
This will take place next Sunday at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club.
All members wish them good bowling. Unfortunately Clinton and Sarie Bisset lost on Sunday morning, they have a great record in this tournament but they will be back next year.
Due to the public holiday on Wednesday, 27 April, there will be no midweek league. At this stage of the tournament, the team of Daphne Reinhardt has 4 +7 and are second in their section. Bridget White and team have 4 +1 in their section. The men’s sides have Clinton Bisset and team on 4-3, Jorge Santos and team on 2-3 and Eddie Human and team have 2-16. All teams have one more game in the round robin part of the competition left, and will be played on 4 May.
Men’s league on Saturday had both A and B sides only getting two points apiece. Next week the A side will be at home to Durban C. The B side will also be at home. They take on Westville CC B side.
The monthly Diving Bell pairs was played on Thursday. First session was won by Janice and Ian on a 2 +11 and second session went to George and Lilah on a 2 +16. Overall winners were Chris and Dudley on 4 +23 and William won the 50/50 board. Thank you to the sponsor and all who participated.
On Saturday some of the women played two rounds of the club’s open singles competition. In the first round Sarie Bisset beat Ronel Morel, and Bridget White beat Daphne Reinhardt. The next round saw Sarie beat Glynis Mackrory and Jay Retief beat Bridget. This coming Saturday all women are requested to report to the club at 1.30pm for a practise session and final selection for the Port Natal women’s league.
On Friday night the club rocked with the number of people and possibly this had a lot to do with the fact that Phyllis Maritz made her tasty chicken a la king. The attendance draw saw Steve Baker miss out as he was not there. Next week this jackpot will be R360. Ronel Morel won the meat raffle.
Last week’s thought for the week brought out a lot of ‘funny bones’. This week, let’s turn our thoughts to the bowling green and remember that sportsmanship shall prevail.
