Bluff BC bowlers egged on for PN qualifying masters

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Port Natal will hold the qualifying masters and the club wishes good bowling to Gary, Robert, Sarie and Jay.

LAST week saw Port Natal host the men’s nationals, with the finals on Sunday at Parkhill Bowling Club.

Spectators were treated to some good bowling and a number of Bluff Bowling Club’s members were there to witness it.

Although none of Bluff’s bowlers made it to the finals, Clinton Bisset and his team won their section. Congratulations to them all.

Friday night’s attendance draw was not claimed, as Mari McKenzie was not there. There’s a lesson to be learnt – practise what you preach, Mrs McKenzie. Next week the jackpot will be R360. The raffle was won by Allan Ritchie.

The women played club singles on Saturday. In the open, a closely contested game between Sarie Bisset and Elize Stapelberg was won by Elize. Lilah Nel took the spoils against Jay Retief. Dawn Spack and Phyllis Maritz played point singles, also a close game, with Dawn winning. Paula Osman beat Kitty Schaffer also in point singles. Thank you to the men who helped out with the marking.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Port Natal will hold the qualifying masters and the club wishes good bowling to Gary, Robert, Sarie and Jay. These players will be in action at Durban Collegians Bowling Club. Members are urged to support them.

Due to the nationals finals, the Port Natal mixed pairs could not be finalised this last weekend, and Robbie Johnston and Daphne Reinhardt will have to be patient a while longer until a date can be arranged.
