BLUFF Bowling Club reports that Port Natal league came to an end this weekend for men and women bowlers.
The men’s A side, playing in division two, gained five points on Saturday and then finished in grand style with a full seven points on Sunday.
This gave them a total of 36.5 points.
In fourth division, the B side gained nothing on Saturday, and with three points on Sunday, they ended up with 17.5 points.
The women’s A side in division one finished off with a total of 17 points, and not only hold their position in this division, but subject to confirmation, have come second. This is a great achievement.
The women’s B side fought valiantly all the way through the league in division five but only managed two points. Considering that there were a lot of new bowlers in this side, the experience gained is invaluable. All players are commended on their achievements and are a credit to the club.

Now that the league is over, club competitions will once again be in full swing from this Saturday. The men will be playing drawn and nominated pairs. The women will be involved in singles, senior and points, while the final of the open will be contested between Lilah Nel and Elize Stapelberg. Sponsored tournaments coming up are the 3-2-1 killer for men, sponsored by Eddie Human and June Foster, on Friday, 1 July.
Sunday morning sees the long running Acutts pairs being played. Once again the club thanks the sponsors for their support.
