Hewer serves sixth term as WBC president

THE weekend started off with Woodlands Bowling Club (WBC) holding its AGM on Saturday afternoon.
Linda Hewer is serving her sixth year as president.
Tom Cloete is vice president, Bill Hewer remains treasurer and Lynn Carlyle remains secretary and competition secretary. Other committee members are Gloria Rice, Andy Cloete, Norman Moore, Arnie Harper and Neville Horner. After the AGM, members enjoyed a cup of tea and tasty snacks supplied by each member and then a game of fun bowls was played.
Sunday dawned warm and sunny for the breakfast shirts and skirts. Many thanks to Lindi Samuel from Steadfast Insurance for sponsoring the tournament. First overall winners were Norman
Moore and Gloria Rice on 4+14. Second overall winners were Chris Klopper and Margaret Kitchenbrand on 4+12 and second session winners were Rina Harper and Linda Hewer on 2+4. Many thanks to CS Solutions for sponsoring the meat raffle which was won by Shirley Thomlinson. Gloria Rice and Harold Dix scooped the R40 and Harold Dix and David Lloyd snapped up the R20 money board. Drawn prizes went to skip Chantall Hearnshaw and lead David Lloyd.
Good luck to all bowlers playing in the Port Natal fours competition starting this Sunday.
