Wonki, Dirk advance in Berea novices
On Sunday, 23 October, the club will host the annual Jacky Bollaert memorial trophy bowls day.

WANDERERS Bowling Club entered one side of Wonki and Dirk Roos in the Berea novice pairs on Saturay, and they progressed to the next round.
Well done to them.
Saturday also saw the men’s drawn pairs take place with Richard Hendicott and Tommy Simpkins coming back from a large deficit to beat Lofty Cawthorne and Mike Flack 24-23. Titch and Rob Spiller beat Chris Klopper and Brian Deats 26-16, Robin Grobler and Errol Pienaar beat Kim Hawkins and Mike Freeman 24-17 and Peter Prenger and Derek Stevens overcame Bob Hayward and Dirk Roos 22-16.
Sunday saw the PNB fours begin with the side of Steve van Rooyen, Richard Hendicott, Graham Funnell and Anthony Carr progressing to the next round. The other two sides entered unfortunately narrowly missed going into the next round as well.
Friday’s snowball saw Brian Reid claim the R500 on offer. The various meat pack winners were: Lamb – Lofty, beef – Buks, pork roast – Mitty, rump – Ralph, chicken pack – Porky, chicken – Dave Leuchars.
The weekly lotto was a carry-over of R200.
The weekly joker draw continued with Ernie Lochner claiming the R50 consolation and ensuring the potential pay-out next Friday will be R4,300-plus.
The monthly bowls R50 draw was also done, with Keith Wild (R750), Robin Grobler (R500) and Hennie Geldenhuys (R250) claiming the prizes.
Sunday’s prawn feast with live music was enjoyed by all.
