Rob, Andy, Dave clinch trips bowls

THERE was only one game this weekend in the Wanderers Bowling Club men’s drawn pairs, with Robin Grobler and Errol Pienaar beating Peter Prenger and Derick Stevens 22-17.
Wonki and Dirk Roos won one more game in the Berea novices pairs, before being knocked out.
Steve van Rooyen, Richard Hendicott, Graham Funnell and Anthony Carr also lost in the next round of the PNB fours unfortunately.
The monthly breakfast trips competition was held on Sunday, with sportsman’s prize going to Robin Grobler, AD Fuller and Gwen Tait. Session prizes went to Lofty Cawthorne, Archie Fisher and Robbie Carr on 2+11, and Bob Hayward, Jeff Bolt and Jo-anne Jordaan on a 2+6. In third overall was Brian Smith, Dave Carroll and Robin de Gouveia on 4+9, second place overall was Roger, Barry and John Yunnie on a 4+10, and first prize went to Rob Philogene, Andy Cloete and David Lloyd on a 4+18. The R5 board saw Dix and Phil Hill claim the R50 cash, and Lorinne and Chris Klopper claimed the meat prizes.
Friday’s snowball of R500 was a carry-over. The various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Terry Brown, beef – Porky, pork roast – Troy Simpkins, rump – Buks, chicken pack – Jeff and Mitty, chicken – Sausage. The lotto was also a carry-over of R420.
The weekly joker draw was another consolation winner with Mike Flack pulling the 10 of spades on behalf of the bowls section for the R50. The potential prize is now around R4,500.
