AFTER a week of cold wet weather, Saturday dawned dry and hot at Woodlands Bowling Club.

The mixed drawn pairs was played between Harold Dix and Linda Hewer against Andy Cloete and Lynn Carlyle.

On the 11th end, Harold and Linda were up 19-4 when the wheels fell off. Linda took a bad turn due to the excessive heat on the greens and was battling to play. Harold had to do all the work with Andy and Lynn slowly picking up points and creeping up to them but finally on the second to last end, Harold and Linda were able to score again and eventually won the game 20-18. It was a very close call.

On Sunday, 23 October the club will host its breakfast shirts and skirts. The perch is sitting at R750. To enter a team contact Rina Harper on 076-568-4632.
