Boers vs Brits fun bowls this Friday
Members are reminded of the Boers and Brits fun day on Friday, 16 December and are encouraged to dress to show their allegiance.

THE chicken run tabs in bowls played on Saturday, 3 December at Wentworth Bowling Club was won by Spider Williams and Rob Armstrong, who were closely followed by Cora van der Westhuizen and Craig ‘Snap On’ Herholdt.
The sportsmen’s prze went to Eileen du Plessis and Bokka van der Westhuizen.
Wednesday’s Family and Friends development bowls saw Craig ‘Snap On’ Herholdt back on the podium when he partnered with Zoë Dougall and Dudley Sanders to take the first prize. The biscuit prize went to Terry Micholson and Ruth Petzer. Margaret Walters and Dudley Sander shared the spoils on the 60/40 board. Members of the community who would like to try their hand at the game of bowls are invited to attend these development afternoons. Play starts at 3pm each Wednesday.
Graham Bransby and Kurt Spack sneaked home with an one shot lead over Terry Micholson, Wessie van der Westhuizen and Desmond Mac Allistar to win first prize in the Bluff Meat Supply men’s bowls played on Friday morning. Dennis Gericke, Shaun Sutherland and Ben Venter were awarded the sportsmen’s prize. Kurt Spack was the lucky winner of the substantial pork roast that was raffled and Dudley ‘Dorro’ Dorrofield took home the beef roast. Ken Thomas made a clean sweep on the first 60/40 and scooped both prizes. The spoils on the second board were shared by Coy van der Merwe and Gerald ‘Castor’ Royle.
