Robbie or Wonki set to advance to men’s open single semis

SATURDAY’S results in the men’s open singles at Wanderers Bowling Club saw Steve van Rooyen beat Richard Hendicott 22-14, Pat McGlynn lost to Wonki 3-22 and Robbie Spiller beat Terrance McGlynn 21-4.
That leaves the winner of Robbie Spiller and Wonki to meet Steve in the final.

Sunday’s any pairs saw Robbie Carr and Tommy Simpkins wrestle the sportman’s prize away from the 10 sides that entered. First session went to Steve van Rooyen and Wonki on a 2+20. The second session ‘turkeys’ went to Jeff Bolt and Russell Shepherd, who also split the 60/40 board winning the R20 and R40 respectively. Third prize overall went to Lofty Cawthorne and Clive Symons after a count out with second overall, Richard Hendicott and Eric Redman both on 4+5. Overall winners were Terry Brown and Willian Richardson on a 4+11.
Wednesday’s Lynn Wild pairs sponsored by Rawsons Property Montclair, was won by Dave Arnold and Kevin Brown 4+21, with Chris Klopper and Derek Stevens claiming the first session on a 2+13 and Clive Symons and Dirk Roos the second session 2+4. The lotto was a carry-over and the meat draw was won by Clive Symons. The 60/40 board winners were Chris Klopper (R40) and Herbie Roux (R20).
Friday’s various meat pack winners were:

- pork roast – Chris Fourie,
- rump – Dave Leuchars,
- chicken pack – Terry Brown,
- chicken – Derek Stevens.
The snowball sitting on R1,800 was another carry-over as Graham Woycieh’s name was drawn, but he was not present.
The Friday lotto was also another carry-over with R940 in the pool as numbers 6-7-11 were not taken. The joker draw reached a carry-over of R13,810 as the PRAT’s (Pat, Richard, Anthony and Terrance) could not locate the joker.
On Saturday, 25 February the club will host a curry buffet from 1pm for lunch and early dinner. The Price is R60 per person with pints at R8.50 for diners with their meals only.
