Gloria’s mixed trips team bowls over Bill’s bowlers

Saturday being a warm sunny afternoon saw Linda Hewer and Rina Harper play a game of singles with Rina beating Linda 21-4.

THE casual fours breakfast bowls took place at Woodlands Bowling Club on Thursday with Terry Micholson, Herbie Roux, Tom Cloete and Johan Nel winning on 4+22.

Second session winners on 2+4 were Dawn and Kurt Spack, JoAnne Jordaan and Gwen Tait on a count out against the Hillary team. Tom Cloete snagged the R40 money board, with Kurt Spack snapping up the R20. Honey won the meat raffle, thanks to CS Solutions.

Saturday’s warm, sunny afternoon saw Linda Hewer and Rina Harper play a game of singles, with Rina beating Linda 21-4. The game of mixed trips played between Gloria Rice, Andy Cloete and Eric Coetzee against Bill Hewer, Tom Cloete and Lynn Carlyle saw Gloria and her team beat Bill’s team with such a big score that they didn’t even complete all the ends.

Wednesday, 7 June is the any pairs competition. To enter a team, contact Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575.

On Sunday, 11 June the club hosts a fun day. Be at the club by 9.30am to give your names for games to start at 10am. Bowls will be supplied and the cost is R20 which includes a boerie roll at the end of the game. Call Liz on 072-021-4583.
