League bowls action hots up for Bluff bowlers

In the men’s league the “A” play at home against Durban, players to note that the starting time for this game is 9am the “B” side play Parkhill also at home but that game starts at 1pm.

THE men’s and women’s bowls league continued this weekend where Bluff Bowling Club had a mixed bag of results.

In the men’s league the A side played against Amanzimtoti A at home and lost 5-2.

The B side travelled to Hillcrest and lost 5-0.

The women fared a little better, with the A side losing 3-2 to Durban A and the B side beating Firwood A, 5-0.

There were two mixed trip competitions played on Sunday. Clinton Bisset, Glynis Mackrory and Harvey Simpkin beat Chris Pozyn, Lilah Nel and Wendy Fleetwood 23-15, while in the other game Eddie Human, Dawn Spack and Sheldon Wicks beat Gary Moffat, Steve Baker and Kitty Schaefer 21-17.

League continues this week with the women A side playing against Parkhill A at Northlands, and the B side against Queensburgh A at Firwood. All players are to meet at the club at 11am. In the men’s league the A team plays at home against Durban. Players are to that the starting time for this game is 9am. The B side plays Parkhill also at home but that game starts at 1pm.

On Thursday, 15 June it’s the monthly Acutts any pairs, and on Sunday, 18 June the Dudley/Brian any pairs takes place. Both games start at 9am. All players are welcome. Call Dudley Dorrofield on 072-226-881 (EMAILED FOR MISSING DIGIT) to enter.

Members are reminded that the annual vegetable derby is on Friday night, 23 June at 7pm. All the entries for the main event are sold, the interest shown so far has been good.
