Nominated pairs bowls goes down to the wire

On Thursday morning, 20 July is the Spur/Acutts sponsored any pairs with some great prizes up for grab

BLUFF Bowling Club’s women’s section bowls saw Daphne Reinhardt beat Deidre Koekemoer in the points singles on Saturday and in the final of the nominated pairs, Elize Stapleberg and Chrissie Smith won a very closely contested game against Janice Rodgers and Dawn Spack, winning on a measure on the last end.

On Sunday the Brian Dudley sponsored any pairs was played and with the pool standing R2,105 there was great interest in the game. With no-one winning the jackpot, it is carried over. First session was won by Herbie Roux and Johan Nel, while second session went to Noel Morel and Glynis Mackrory. Winners were Robert Mhlongo and Sheldon Wicks. The boards were won by Chrissie Smith and Louise du Plessis and the raffle by Greg Dorrofield.

Friday night saw the attendance draw go unwon as Jorge Santos was not present. Similarly, the lotto was also not won and the pot now stands at R220.

In the joker card draw Lilah Nel’s number was drawn but unfortunately she could not find the joker, so she left with R50 for her trouble. The pot is now worth R1,500 so it’s worth seeing Gary Moffat for some tickets.

On Thursday morning, 20 July the Spur Acutts sponsored any pairs takes place with some great prizes up for grabs, so any interested bowlers should contact Dudley Dorrofield.
