Elize’s trio claim weekend women’s drawn trips bowls
There are a number of club competitions posted for Saturday so check the boards.
THE women’s drawn trips bowls played out at Bluff Bowling Club on Saturday.
Elize Stapelberg, Wendy Fleetwood and Louise du Plessis beat Janice Rodgers, Ronel Morel and Elsie Gill.
In the men’s drawn pairs Gary Moffat and Harvey Simpkin beat Clinton Bisset and Dave Lavis.
On Sunday six mixed nominated pairs competitions were played. Robert Mhlongo and Glynis Mackrory beat Kurt and Dawn Spack, Daphne Reinhardt and Noel Morel beat Brian and Paula Osman, Eddie Human and Elize Stapelberg beat Clinton and Sarie Bisset, Janice Rodgers and Spider Williams beat June Foster and Dudley Dorrofield, Gary Moffat and Lilah Nel beat Chris Pozyn and Wendy Fleetwood, Jorge Santos and Ronel Morel beat Dave Le Roux and Bridget White.
Friday night’s attendance draw was won by Mouse Ratcliffe who was not there to collect his winnings, the lotto was a carry-over and the joker board was won by the Spack family who unfortunately could not find the joker so the jackpot now stands at R2700.
On Thursday, 17 August, the Grand Rapid Spur Acutts any pairs takes place and on Sunday, it’s the Bluff any pairs sponsored by Dudley and Brian. Both these competitions start at 9am and as the A green is closed, only 12 teams can be accommodated. If you would like to enter, contact Dudley Dorrofield on 072-226-8811.
