Wanderers team makes PN fours final eight while club hosts breakfast trips

THIS Sunday saw the continuation of the men’s Port Natal fours bowling.
For Wanderers Bowling Club, Steve van Rooyen’s side sailed into the last eight, but then lost a closely contested match against Stella by two shots.
Congratulations to Steve and his team. While they were doing battle on the Westville greens, Wanderers hosted 20 sides in the monthly breakfast trips. Toti’s Dave Gardner, Neville and Lennie Roscoe claimed the sportsman prize. Session prizes went to Hillary’s Ron Farnham, Henry and Rex Meyer and Felicity Finestone, Geoff Atkin and Titch Philips. Third place overall went to Charles, Jarred and Keegan Bauristhene on a 4 +22. Second overall went the way of Mark Ramsden, Paddy O’ Brien and Trevor Chislett 2+25. Overall winners were Jeff Bolt, Nicola Baurithene and Joanne Jordaan on a 4+39. The board prizes went the way of Jeff Bolt and Neville Roscoe claiming R50, and Derek Stevens and Felicity Finestone claiming the meat prizes. Well done to all.
Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack Jeff Bolt, beef Martin van Staden, pork roast Martin van Staden, rump Martin van Staden, chicken pack Martin van Staden, chicken Chris Fourie.
The R1,700 snowball was won by Matthew Unger.
Friday’s lotto of R1,240 was also a carry over, and the joker draw was another carry-over as Matthew Unger could not locate the joker. The pool is now in the region of R20,000.
Members are urged to read the board, as there are men’s competitions boarded which close on 21 October. Wanderers will host the Nomads on Sunday, 22 October at 1.30pm. Put your name down if you want to attend – any Port Natal bowlers are welcome.
