Ramblers take a hike along North Coast beaches

Beach hike with tidal pools and rocky outcrops from Ballito to Salt Rock.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club enjoy a members only hike to Phezulu Safari Park in Botha’s Hill on Saturday, 27 January.

This 7km hike is graded two, moderate and hikers should confirm their attendance with hike leader Linda on 083-353-8319.

This hike will be a guided walk through the beautiful park. Hikers will enjoy drinks afterwards at the restaurant. Confirm the entrance fee closer to the time. Meet and park at the earlier time of 1.30pm at Phezulu Safari Park, 5 Old Main Road, Hillcrest.

On Sunday, 28 January hikers will set out on a 10km hike from Ballito to Salt Rock. Call hike leader Margie Forbes on 073-437-6915. This outing is graded two (moderate). It is a beach hike with tidal pools and rocky outcrops from Ballito to Salt Rock, with the return route being identical or through the suburbs. Hikers can enjoy the optional lunch or drinks afterwards and should take along their costumes for a quick dip. Petrol sharing costs R20.
