Pedalling forward with the Wentworth Cycling Club

Whether you want to ride for the first time or enhance your skills, the Wentworth Cycling Club is welcoming new riders of all skill levels.

THE Wentworth Cycling Club (WCC), established in 2014, has grown into a social hub for both social and competitive cyclists. The club is eager to expand its membership base and welcome new riders.

Earl Dorkin, the club’s chairperson, said WCC caters for cyclists of all skill levels, from a beginner to an advanced rider wanting to sharpen their skills.

“The club has two groups, group A and group B, which is decided upon the intensity of your training. We also offer regular group rides where we all ride together,” said Dorkin.

WCC specialises in road biking and boasts good health benefits. Dorkin said, “Cycling improves cardiovascular health, relieves stress, helps with weight control and helps in injury recovery.”

He added that it also has social benefits as it helps build friendships and promotes camaraderie and networking among the other cyclists. “Cycling is mainly a team sport as it requires you to work together, and this improves the sense of community,” he said.
