Dare to run for a cause: Daredevil Run entries open

The Daredevil Run is back and encouraging people to don their special purple speedos and run to raise funds for prostate cancer awareness.

ENTRIES are open for the 2025 Daredevil Run which is set for October 31, and The Bluff and surrounding area residents are once again getting ready to run for a cause while sporting purple speedos.

The Bluff will be one of the starting locations of the run, with the morning run starting at 06:30 for 07:00 from Oxford Fresh Market to Bluff Meat Supply and back. Those who cannot make it in the morning can also take part in an afternoon run starting at 14:30 for 15:00 at the same location.

The Bluff’s Daredevil legend Lawrence Chislett is hoping to conquer his tenth race this year. “The Daredevil Run is not a race but a way of keeping prostate and testicular cancer on people’s radar and encouraging men to take a serious look at their health,” he said.

Daredevil Run veteran Lawrence Chislett donned his speedo for last year’s race and will put it on again.

The entry price is R180 per runner, which includes a Hollard kit with water bottle, registration number, armband, the purple branded speedo and some surprise treats. All proceeds will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of SA and cancer screening initiatives.

“This run is about saving lives through awareness and early detection. Whether you’re running for yourself, a friend or in memory of someone,” said Chislett.

For more information or to register, contact Tshi Munzhelele from Hollard at 072 933 5166 or call Hollard directly on 011 467 3341.
