Boyfriend arrested after missing Protea South woman found dead
It is alleged that the woman was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend, which led to her demise.
Shock and outrage have gripped the community of Protea South following the brutal murder of 20-year-old Ithabeleng Motleleng, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend, Zachariah Nonyane (27).
According to the information received from Motleleng’s brother, Relebogile Lipholo, his sister and Nonyanewere allegedly involved in an altercation on Monday, May 26, which led to Motleleng being struck with a golf club.
“My sister caught Nonyane with another girl, which led to their fight. He then killed my sister and hid her under the bed.
“The next day, he came to our home looking for her. We told him that she had said she was going to see him, but he denied seeing her, ” explained Lipholo.
Lipholo further told Urban News that it took them five days to find Motleleng, and during that time, Nonyane was very active in helping with the search for her.

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed the incident.
Nevhuhulwi said on May 30, the police in Protea arrested Nonyane for the murder of his girlfriend.
“It is reported that on May 28, a woman was reported missing by her family and investigations to locate her were immediately conducted.
“On May 30, the police went to question her boyfriend and, upon searching his shack at Protea South, the police made the gruesome discovery of the victim’s body wrapped in a carpet, hidden under the bed,” Nevhuhulwi said.
She further stated that as police made the arrest, a group of community members attacked the members, and backup was called.

Two police officers were injured and two police vehicles were damaged as the community was pelting the police with stones.
Urban News reports that at the Protea Magistrate Court, the suspect did not appear as scheduled. Community members and family were informed to return on June 3 for further updates regarding the matter.
