“We are delighted to have played a role in the transformation of Ditawana Primary School over the past three years.

“Our efforts range from painting classroom walls to revamping the library, creating a fully functional kitchen, hosting International Literacy Day activities to enhance learners’ skills and providing equipment as well as financial support.
“It has been a journey both fulfilling and reflective of Absa’s commitment to community development and upliftment,” said the managing executive at Absa Insurance, Collin Molepe.
Absa Insurance adopted the school as part of its Force for Good programme, demonstrating the tangible impact of corporate social responsibility and its benefits for learners and educators.
The initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development’s goal four on quality education, by bridging community gaps and ensuring inclusive and quality education.

Molepe said he is particularly pleased to be delivering the water tanks, which will ensure the continued supply of clean drinking water to learners and teachers. This is a basic human right and critical component for proper hygiene and sanitation.
Nomasonto Luvuno, principal at Ditawana Primary School, thanked Absa for its dedication over the years, noting that the support had restored not only school infrastructure, but also dignity to the learners and community.
“Absa has been a steady partner, helping us create a conducive learning environment and meet learners’ basic needs, from schooling necessities to classroom resources.
“Even in times of hardship, especially when we mourned the loss of a student, Absa stood by us, touching the hearts of our community and parents. We deeply appreciate a journey defined by compassion,” the Luvuno added.
Representatives from Absa Insurance, the broader Absa Group and Ditawana Primary School governing body attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
