David Warner, Australia’s vice-captain, will play in the second Test against the Proteas in Port Elizabeth after accepting his charge of breaching the International Cricket Council’s code of conduct.
The 31-year-old had been the main protagonist in a nasty incident with Quinton de Kock, where he had to be restrained by teammates in a staircase after the two got into a war of words.
He was charged with a level two offence, which entails three demerit points and a fine 75% of his match fee.
Had Warner contested, he could’ve been banned for the match if unsuccessful.
*Proteas team management announced on Wednesday afternoon that De Kock would be contesting his charge. A hearing has been set for Wednesday evening.
Both sides continue to maintain that their respective players weren’t the guilty party in what almost became a physical altercation.

Meanwhile, Australian broadcaster Fox News released new footage of Warner swearing at De Kock just before the players walk up to the dressing rooms, where all the drama unfolded.
Warner is heard calling South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batsman a “f***ing sook”.
Sook is an Australian term for a person considered a “softie who complains a lot”.
