Dance to the Snaith tune

Entrechat was undone by a slow start on debut but still managed to produce a good run to finish a 1.75-length second to Boomtown Belter last week.

The experience will be invaluable and she should be a lot smarter this time and looks hard to oppose in Race 1 over 1000m at Kenilworth today.

This Captain Al filly is bred for a bit further but the Justin Snaith-trained and Richard Fourie-ridden Entrechat is expected to give punters the perfect start.

Australian-bred More Than Grand has been a disappointment in that he has yet to shed his maiden tag yet but that can change in Race 3 over 1400m. The More Than Ready colt is one-paced so a change in tactics, which would see him leading from the jump, could be a possible catalyst in producing a win.

Jeremy and The Best Of Me could improve over the extra ground and are the biggest threats.

Jam Tart, trained by Joey Ramsden, returns from a lengthy break but if fit should go very close to winning Race 4, a Maiden Plate over 1400m. This Duke Of Marmalade three-year-old found the Snaith pair of True Asset and Evoke Emotion too good for her in her last two starts.

One should also monitor the betting on Fort Wood juvenile Nima, who is making her debut for the Snaith yard. Caprice De Dieux has fitness on her side and will be in the shake-up.

Juveniles racing in open company are not everyone’s cup of tea in this country but I am firmly in the camp of Victorious Jay in Race 5 over 1400m. The Jay Peg colt has been a bit green in all three of his starts to date but looks to have more scope than the line-up he faces.

A drop in trip could allow Boston Celtic to bounce back to form in Race 7 and a solid Place bet could be the way to go.
