Chiefs midfielder loaned to Polokwane City

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kabelo Mahlasela has been loaned out to Polokwane City.

Phakaaathi reported at the start of the week that the midfielder was searching for a new club as he has struggled to cement his place in coach Ernst Middendorp’s squad. A Phakaaathi source revealed Mahlasela was advised to ask for a loan move from the club to get game time elsewhere so Chiefs can give him a chance.

Mahlasela joined Chiefs from Bloemfontein Celtic in the January transfer window in 2018 but failed to break in the club’s first team.

The attacking midfielder is expected to return to Amakhosi’s Naturena camp at the end of the season as his loan deal expires in six months.

“Kabelo remains a talented player and we wish him all of the best with City for the next five months,” Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung told the club’s official website.
