De Sa leaves Maritzburg after seven matches

Maritzburg United coach, Roger De Sa has left the club after just three months at the helm.

Reports of De Sa leaving the KwaZulu-Natal based team broke on Wednesday night, but he only confirmed them on Thursday morning after meeting with club chairman, Farouk Kadodia.

Phakaaathi understands that De Sa handed in his resignation and asked that he be allowed to leave immediately as he has family matters which required his immediate attention.

The Team of Choice chairman Farook Kadodia confirmed De Sa’s resignation on the club’s Facebook account.

“The coach informed me that he had to go back to Cape Town to attend to family commitments, and I had to respect that. He was with us for only three months, but I thank him for the time he spent here and I wish him well for the future. Fadlu will take over the reigns supported by the existing technical team until the end of the season,” said Kadodia

De Sa had only been in charge in seven games, winning two of those. Maritzburg are currently 10th in the Absa Premiership and four points above the relegation zone.
