Katsande hopes for new Chiefs contract

Midfielder Willard Katsande says he would like to stay at Kaizer Chiefs for three more seasons.

Katsande’s current deal with Chiefs expires at the end of the season and he says he is prepared to stay at the club.

The former Warriors captain is 34 years old and recently returned to the starting XI having spent some time on the sidelines following a dip in form since the arrival of German coach Ernst Middendorp.

Katsande joined Chiefs from Ajax Cape Town in 2011 and has made 250 appearances for Amakhosi.

“Competition makes you a better player and I am willing to stay here for the next three years because I need to leave a rich legacy,” the player told Herald.

“Our main objective to win the big fish which is the league title and this year is special because we just turned 50 years old.”
