Larsen confirms Polokwane City move

Clinton Larsen says he enjoyed his time off after he was sacked by Chippa United two months ago.

Larsen confirmed that he joined Polokwane City as their head coach on Thursday.

The former Managing Rangers midfielder joined the club, taking over from under-fire coach Bernard Molekwa.

City has only won four matches in the current campaign after 13 games under the mentorship of Molekwa.

Larsen revealed that his agent spoke to the club’s chairperson for weeks before he agreed to the deal, giving him enough time to assess the players in the club by watching their games.

“I joined them yesterday (Thursday),” Larsen told Phakaaathi.

“I had time away [from coaching] to spend some time with my family. As coaches, we don’t have enough time to be with our families. I am refreshed and ready to go again since leaving Chippa two months ago.”

Larsen will be in charge of Rise and Shine when they face Maritzburg United on Sunday afternoon at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
