Mosimane not impressed by condition of the pitch

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane slammed poor playing surface at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in his side's 1-1 draw against Chippa United on Tuesday evening.

Sundowns remain in fifth place on the table after sharing the spoils with the Chilli Boys. Mosimane said his side couldn’t play their usual style due to conditions of the pitch.

The former Bafana Bafana coach benched eight players that started against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

“I think both teams had chances, I think they had a chance, and ours in the second half was clear, and two of them fell to Teko at the back post, but under the circumstances, we’ll take a point because you can’t play football here,” Mosimane said after the game.

“We have to play that one [points in air], you know. It was not football, it’s not good for Chippa, it’s not good for Sundowns.

“We don’t play percentage football, but tonight we played percentage football because it’s like rugby on the ground. We never played on this side where Chippa finished – they could play because they could pass to each other,” he added.
