Sundowns monitoring Katsande’s situation at Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns are said to be keeping close eye on Willard Katsande’s situation with Kaizer Chiefs.

Katsande’s contract with Amakhosi is set to expire at the end of June, and the parties are still locked in negotiations over a new contract.

Now a Phakaaathi source close to Sundowns says the Brazilians are monitoring the situation.

“Sundowns are aware that Katsande wants to stay with Chiefs, but should the parties fail to agree terms then they’ll go after him. He is a quality player and should he be available on a free, Sundowns will pounce on him,” said the source.

Katsande has made it clear he wants to stay with Amakhosi, but the Zimbabwe captain is also adamant he will not sign a new contract unless he is paid what he is worth.

It remains to be seen if Chiefs will agree to Katsande’s demands or if they will let him leave at the end of the season.
