Micho hails in-form Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic hailed his players' character after continuing their unbeaten run this year following their 2-0 victory over Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Place on Saturday.

Goals from Zambian striker Justin Shonga and winger Thembinkosi Lorch ensured the Soweto giants took all three points. They have won three of their last four games after coming back from the Christmas break.

Pirates have accumulateed 30 points after 19 games, putting them in contention for the league title.

“I’m very happy with the three points, the players worked hard this week. We corrected everything we did wrong against Polokwane City previously.

“We played a very good team with a very good coach. It’s hard to believe they are fighting to avoid relegation,” said Micho.

“They are fighting to get out of the relegation zone, but we had our plans. These matches are very difficult and when you want to be in contention for the league title you have to win these games.”

The Bucs coach stressed the point that they have to win matches against teams that are struggling.

“The players applied themselves from the start of the game. When you want to compete for the league title these are the kind of the matches you need to win because they are very difficult.”

Micho added that the spirit in the Bucs camp is very high and everyone in the team is playing for the badge.

“We have a good spirit in the team. We love each other, we love the shirt. We want to do everything for this team.”
