Jacques Grobbelaar, CEO of Stadium Management SA, the company that manages FNB Stadium confirmed the match on social media.

“#SMSA Tournament First clash -#ShellHelixCup Save the date 21 July 2018 15:00 Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns,” wrote Grobbelaar on his Twitter account.

Last week, Phakaaathi reported the Carling Cup match would not take place due to the sponsor’s commitment to the 2018 Fifa World Cup, which falls on the dates of the game.

Carling Black Label director Grant Pereira confirmed the news on Monday morning, and announced they would launch a new partnership with the Premier Soccer League.
